First there was Ultimate Werewolf, a long-winded game of building suspense by killing off players one-by-one. Great for atmosphere, not great for the first person to be eliminated.
Then there was One Night Ultimate Werewolf, a favourite at the store. Short 15 minuter rounds of crazy accusations usually repeated a few times. But there's no persistence between rounds and players tend to develop grudges, even though there's no logical reason to do so.
Now we have the exact in-between: One Week Ultimate Werewolf. Players perform one action during the day phase (where players are observing) and one action during the night phase (where players have their eyes closed usually). Then they spend a little time accusing and threatening and using the information that is being shared to inform their actions on future turns.
The perfect blend of short gameplay with meaningful decisions based on leaps of logic, conjecture and induction.
